Exploring Great Smoky Mountain National Park in Fall

Have you seen the spectacular foliage in Great Smoky Mountains National Park? Enjoy the best fall things to do in Pigeon Forge when you plan an outing to this natural wonderland. Nestled at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains, our hotel near Dollywood makes a comfortable home base to explore this National Park in the fall.

You can slip into your favorite hiking boots for a fall hike through the Great Smoky Mountains. There are more than 800 miles of well-maintained trails to explore on foot or horseback. You can also just hop into your car and go for a scenic drive around the park. Great Smoky National Park is located south of Pigeon Forge about 25 minutes from our hotel. It makes an easy day trip for a picnic or a stop at the Visitor's Center to learn about the nature and history of the area. Other fall activities include fishing, mountain biking, and guided tours by park rangers. If you do take a day trip, you'll still have plenty of time to come back to Pigeon Forge for a show like Dixie Stampede or a concert at Memories Theatre

The forests at Great Smoky National Park put on a quite a show every fall with a brilliant array of colors. Soak in shades of red, brown, yellow, and orange for colorful golden hues that seem to go on for miles and miles. The foliage usually peaks anywhere from mid-October to early November depending on the weather, so make your reservations at Ramada Pigeon Forge for a fall adventure!
