Check Out the Amazing Quilts at A Mountain Quiltfest - Ramada Pigeon Forge

Are you looking for a little something different to do while in Pigeon Forge and the Great Smoky Mountains? Well, take it back to the basics - Quilt Style – at the 22nd A Annual Mountain Quiltfest. Quiltfest will be held March 15th – March 19th at the LeConte Center at Pigeon Forge.

There's more to quilts than just the old quilts that grandmas used to make out of scraps of fabric. It used to be that quilts were made for one reason…to keep warm in the winter. Now, they are truly works of art made for display and never to be used.

Many quilts are made to be used as a decorative comforter on a bed using traditional patterns and fabrics replicating old flour sack fabrics, that were used in the days of old. The quilts displayed at Quiltfest will be in all different sizes, shapes and forms from traditional to exotic.

Quilters from around the world be be at Quiltfest. They can choose between different categories for the competition…(think old time county fair). There are categories based on style, size, skill level, and my favorite, the art category.

Art Quilts are very unique in that they are like a painting, on fabric, except most don't have any paint on them at all. The subjects are depicted completely of fabrics and they are totally amazing to see.

So, bring the family over to the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge and view the amazing quilts that are on display. The Ramada Pigeon Forge is a host hotel for Quiltfest so; you will likely meet some of the talented quilters in the lobby. And, you will be excited to learn that they are not all OLD WOMEN. Quilters are ARTISTS!
