The Great Smoky Mountains span over 500,000 acres, making up a part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the larger Appalachian Mountain chain. They were named after the blue smoky mist that hugs the mountaintops and have become a staple background to Pigeon Forge. Boasting over 800 miles of trails, tons of camping sites, waterfalls, coves, and summits, it's no wonder that so many outdoors enthusiasts come here ever year.

Cades Cove, an isolated valley spanning 6,800 cares and is the most visited area in the whole park.
