Family Picnics at Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Did you know it's easy to have a picnic at America's most visited National Park? Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a wonderful place to enjoy a summer picnic with your family. There are 10 fantastic picnic pavilions spread throughout the park. On your way out of town, you can stop by a grocery store of your choice, all close to Ramada Pigeon Forge. Just five minutes from our hotel, you can buy picnic supplies at Kroger or Publix Supermarket. You can also visit the Old Cracker Barrel Country Store down the road. Start your day with our complimentary breakfast, then head out on the road for a spectacular summer picnic in the park.

There are several places to enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the park. Year-round picnic areas in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park include:
-Metcalf Bottoms
-Cades Cove
-Deep Creek
-Big Creek
-Look Rock
-Collins Creek
-Twins Creek

A few picnic areas are only open during spring, summer, and fall (closed in winter):
-Collins Creek
-Deep Creek

The closest location to our Pigeon Forge accommodations is the Twin Creeks Picnic Pavilion. It's only 13 miles away from our hotel. Hop in your car and enjoy an unforgettable picnic in less than 30 minutes. You can explore the online map of the National Park Service to find the exact locations of the picnic areas. After your picnic, you can take a hike along the scenic trails or enjoy a relaxing drive around the park.
