Nothing can be more pleasurable than when the stories that your heart is filled with are found amidst the quietude of nature. The weather is perfect for you to explore the variety of things that you and your beloved can do at this quiet picturesque Tennessee town.

Celebrating Togetherness while Exploring Nature in Pigeon Forge

The Tennessee mountain city will dazzle you with its natural beauty. Named after the iron forge built in 1820 by Issac Love, this quaint historic town nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains makes for a romantic getaway for couples. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park offers a gamut of outdoor and adventure activities to choose from.

Adventure-lovers: Ramada offer the Rafting in the Smokies Package for those who want to explore white-water rafting and zip-lining on the Little Pigeon river; and horseback riding along scenic trails. Do try the Alpine Coaster for the unique experience of rushing through the mountains in a toboggan. You can also opt for an off-roading jeep adventure for a truly thrilling 4x4 experience.

Nature-lovers: The Great Smoky Mountain National Park hiking trails cater to every level of hiking experience, making it simple for you to find the right fit for you and your partner.

Hiking to Abrams Fall is a truly magical experience. The 5.2-mile roundtrip hike to Abrams Fall is a moderate trail through scenic forests. The 20-feet waterfall is a magnificent place to pause and listen to the sounds of flowing water and forest fauna.

2.2 miles from the beginning of the trail, through the rock-cut steps in the Arch Rock, to the 80 feet high concave bluff, the Alum Cave Trail is a hike which promises spectacular views of the mountains. With an elevation of 1200 feet, it can be a steep climb for less experienced hikers.

Outdoor Activities for Seekers of Quiet Company

The Little Pigeon River, which flows through the region has a charming history. The Cherokee named it after the now extinct passenger pigeons which flocked in considerable numbers near the river. Take a peaceful stroll along the river on the Riverwalk Trail. Don't miss the marvelous long drive on the Cades Cove Loop Road. Considered one of the most picturesque parts of the area. The 1-11-mile one-way road is popular for its glorious sights of the mountains, quaint old churches, log cabins, and wildlife viewing. Make sure you pack a picnic because the tranquility will compel you to explore the 6,800-acre valley steeped in the history of European settlers.

Wine and Dine: Make some of the finest wineries in the area part of your wine trail. Hillside Winery is reopening on March 17. Do not miss the opportunity to attend the free wine tastings at Apple Barn Winery. Fruit wines like watermelon are the specialty of Mountain Valley Winery as are the mature wines with aromas of mocha and plum at Mill Bridge Winery. However, do make prior reservations as walk-ins are not being encouraged.

Get a taste of the special breakfast menu Mel's Diner. The truly authentic American desserts are sure to add to the sweetness of your relationship. If you are a fan of Southern cooking or would like to get a taste of it, then drop in at Huck Finn's Catfish. The family owned and operated establishment has a mouth-watering menu to offer. Established in 2016, the Local Goat is making waves with its craft food and beer. Locally and sustainably sourced, this is a must visit for you and your partner.
