This annual gathering of magicians and magic lovers takes place every winter in Pigeon Forge. There are two parts to the event: a three-day conference with workshops and activities for magicians of all ages and evening magic shows open to the public. The conference takes place from Thursday, March 7^th to Saturday, March 9^th, while the popular magic shows take place on Friday and Saturday night only.

On Friday and Saturday night, the public is welcome to attend the Country Tonite Theatre to see some of the best magicians in the country. Admission is $20 per show for adults and $7 for kids 4-12. Step back in time to see what life was like during the 18th century in Pigeon Forge. You can take a free guided tour of the Old Mill to see an important part of Tennessee history. The mill is on the National Register of Historic Places and provided electricity to the city until 1935. Today you can eat in the restaurant that serves up classic Southern cuisine like biscuits, cornbread, and hush puppies. 

Before you head off to the 14th Annual Old Mill for Heritage Day, you can start your morning at our hotel with a complimentary breakfast. Early spring is a perfect time to catch the Bloodroot - short in stature and and surrounded by white petals, this flower is a pretty common sighting throughout the park - especially at lower elevations. The root emits a deep-red sap, hence the name. The Crested Dwarf Iris is a beautiful spring flower, deep purple in hue and with yellow crests. You can find these at mid and low elevations.

It’s unlikely that you won’t run into our next friend, the Dutchman’s Bridges, which is incredibly common all throughout the park. This unique yellow flower sprouts up and droops downward, such that it looks like a pair of pants hanging on a clothesline. Another common and interesting flower you’ll see in the early spring is the Jack-in-the-Pulpit. This interesting specimen forms a canopy over itself.

It’s hard to keep track of all the incredible wildlife that inhabits the park, but the National Park Service does a great job. Head over to their website for more on spring wildflowers. We’re looking forward to having you here at the Ramada!

From April 6th through the 8th, the LeConte Center becomes an epicenter of all things classic cars. From hot rods to racers and everything in between, you’ll get to see the coolest custom classics all souped up and ready to go! Aside from the general swap meet, there will also be an array of competitions held throughout the weekend, with a grand prize of $8,000 awarded to the best car.

In addition to all the cool cars, there will also be tons of activities, live entertainment, and great local food vendors on site. Bring the whole family out for a day of fun in Pigeon Forge! If you’re not going to be in town for this one though, don’t sweat it - the Rod Run will be back in the fall (September 14 - 16)  so maybe go ahead and book your reservation with us here at the Ramada early!

The Charles Bunion trail is a particularly sought-after hike, which offers those who take it the incredible reward of a breathtaking view of distant mountains and valleys. The Smokies are also well-known for their incredible wildflowers, and next month there will be a great celebration during the Spring Wildflower Pilgrimage. This annual five-day event, from April 11th through the 15th, offers guided tours and exhibitions on the many species of wildflowers that inhabit the Smokies.

As per usual, the Titanic Museum of Pigeon Forge honors its Irish heritage (the ill-fated cruiseliner was built in Ireland) with special exhibits and stories about the 159 Irish passengers and crew aboard the ship. Or if you’d like to get outside, see if you can find a four-leafed clover in the Great Smoky Mountains! Celtic legend has it that these mythical plants ward off dark spirits. Maybe you’ll find one in the old Smokies!

For another journey back in time, enjoy the immersive sounds of Atahualpa - a musical mashup of ancient Incan instruments mixed with contemporary sounds of today in an homage to one of the greatest civilizations to ever have lived.

Or how about a Caribbean getaway? The Invaders Steel Orchestra is one of the most accomplished and important steel drum bands in the world. When you watch this band, you’ll think you went on an island excursion without ever leaving the park!

Long before the rise of the very popular modern-day food truck, there was the chuckwagon. An essential part to the American prairie and frontier, chuckwagons fed hungry cowboys while on the job and away from home for months at a time. Working with limited ingredients, these cooks mastered the art of simplicity. Even though the time of the frontier is gone, we are thankful that the tradition of the chuckwagon has been passed down. The competition stays true to its simplistic roots and bars its contestants from using too many ingredients or modern amenities.

This is sure to be both a fun and educational day of delightful cuisine for the whole family. There will also be children’s activities throughout the day, including the Western Buckaroo Roundup and cowboy lookalikes. Western poetry and music will enhance the embrace of cowboy culture. There’s nothing quite like dinner and a show, and the Grand Majestic Theatre does both extremely well. Sit back and allow yourself to be transported back to Detroit in the 1960s while some of the greatest songs ever penned were being written at Motown. Tributes to groups like The Temptations and The Supremes spring to life right before your eyes. During the top rated Soul of Motown show, you’ll think you were back in 1963!

Another extremely popular show offered at the theater is the HIT PARADE – Jukebox Hits. This show is a choreographed spectacle of song and dance that pays tribute to the greatest hits of the ‘50s and ‘60s, as well as a special tribute to our veterans. Dinner includes an all you can eat menu comprised of meatloaf, chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, and more.

Dolly’s Dixie Stampede and Lumberjack Adventure dinner attractions each keep their decorations and shows in lieu with the holidays as well.

For authentic and handcrafted goods, nobody beats Lid’l Dolly’s. For over 25 years, the shop has been crafting homemade “southern belle girls’ dresses” as well as quilts. This factory store has proudly remained in the same location throughout all their success and continues to be a local favorite of visitors time and time again to Pigeon Forge.

If you’re a more experienced hiker, you can still get out and hit the trails of the Smokies! Nothing else comes close to the serene and peaceful beauty of the mountains in the wintertime. Going to check out the many waterfalls in the Smokies may not be the first thing that comes to your mind when figuring out your vacation plans in Pigeon Forge. You’re seriously missing out though, if you don’t get a chance to see these incredible waterfalls frozen over during the winter. It’s quite a spectacle to be seen, and we bet it’ll go over really well on your Instagram!

From Thursday the 26^th through Sunday the 29^th, just a half hour’s drive west of the Ramada, you’ll find one of the biggest festivals of the season. All weekend long there will be a wealth of live music by singer-songwriters from all over the region. You’re bound to discover some great new artists you’ve never heard of before! Not to mention, there will be a host of classes, competitions, and of course – tons of authentic country food!

Take a class on how to play the banjo or dulcimer like a true mountaineer, learn how to quilt, or perfect your fly-fishing ties at some of the many instructional demonstrations offered throughout the weekend. Or enjoy the spoils of the popular chili cook-off as well as plenty of other food catered by local and regional vendors.

The family behind Ole Smoky has been proudly distilling their own moonshine for generations, and now that the federal ban on distilling moonshine in Tennessee has been lifted, they’re proudly embracing their history as well as their thriving, legal business. Moonshine was made and sold not for the sole purpose of one’s own consumption, but to support the livelihood of the families who were living in new, uncharted territory.

So stop in, enjoy the friendly people who have been honing their craft for generations and the delicious spoils of their hard and persistent work. Go ahead and grab a jar to bring back here to the Ramada! And please be sure to drink responsibly.

Wears Valley Road is where you’re going to find the good stuff. If you’re coming down the Parkway from the Ramada, make a right onto Wears Valley Road and head down for about a mile and a half until you arrive at Yesterday’s Antiques – a shop run by a married couple. You’ll find a great and selection of unique, quality, and clean antiques here. They’re open daily from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays until 5.

After that, keep heading down the road and you’ll find yourself at the Antique Mall. In operation in Pigeon Forge since 2011, but in the antique business for over 25 years, the Antique Mall is your one stop-shop for all things of yesteryear! Check out their brand new annex containing even more goodies!

Nestled even further along down the road is Aunt Debbie’s Country Store – which is not just antiques! Many of the fine goods and crafts sold here are actually homemade. This is a great spot to pick up the work of local artisans and craft makers.

There’s no better place for antiques and country goods than the Smoky Mountains! Be sure to ask our friendly staff here at the Ramada for any more recommendations they may have.

Not even a half hour down the Parkway, you’ll find Ober Gatlinburg. One of the best winter sport parks in the area, Ober Gatlinburg has it all. Skiing and snowboarding for every tier and skill level spread across 9 different trails will satisfy even the most dedicated of skiers.

For family fun, you can zip down the mountain at blindingly fast speeds in a snow tube at their special snow tube park! Snow tubing lanes reach up to 400 feet and are exciting and safe. If you’ve got extra little ones with you, the Cubbies Snow Zone is a great part of Ober dedicated solely to tikes of the extra small variety. They can play in the snow and discover the wonders of winter fun in this safe and enclosed area.

Ober is open from mid-December through sometime in March, season depending. Be sure to check their schedule and enjoy all the winter fun that’s waiting for you! We hope you enjoy your stay here at the Ramada.

This event is from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is a New Year’s party for the tikes who can’t stay up to midnight! The party will include a countdown to the “new year”, a tour of the museum, a visit from Alice in Wonderland characters, and more.

If you want to kill two birds with one stone, head down to the Incredible Christmas Place every Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 1 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. where you’ll be sure to run into good old St. Nick. The kids can sit on Santa’s lap, tell him what they want for Christmas, and take pictures. This is also the perfect opportunity to pick up any last minute gifts or decorations – after all; it’s the largest Christmas shop in the whole south!

This Tuesday, November 8^th, bring the whole family down to the Smoky Mountain Winterfest Kickoff party at Patriot Park, just a few miles down the parkway. The festivities begin at 4 p.m., but you might want to get there a bit earlier to get a good spot for the lighting ceremony. There will be plenty of games for the kids to start before the Mayor gives a speech to kick off the lighting. Sip on a nice cup of hot cocoa as you gaze at the dazzling Christmas light and firework display, and you’ll be sure to be back in the spirit again!

The evening isn’t over yet though, After the ceremony, there will be live music and performances from Jimbo Whaley & Greenbrier, Pistol Creek Catch of the Day & the Pigeon Forge Community Chorus.

There really isn’t anything quite like Christmas time in the Smokies. Magic comes alive and the impossible becomes seemingly possible. Even if you can’t make it to the celebration next week, we welcome you to celebrate with us all holiday season long at the Ramada of Pigeon Forge!

Already, you’ll see that the tops of the mountains have begun to change. This is because higher elevations are exposed to cooler temperatures and are the first to go yellow. Take a drive to Clingman’s Dome for an excellent view of the brilliant colors of the changing mountain range. At the 6,643-foot high summit, you’ll find an observation tower that offers brilliant views like no other. It’s the tallest point all of Tennessee. You’ll also catch the beautiful red berry clusters growing along the Mountain Ashes.

Another great drive is the Blue Ridge Parkway – affectionately named “America’s Favorite Drive”. This sprawling highway offers 469 miles of uninterrupted nature where you’re sure to spot plenty of breathtaking foliage along the way.

There is always so much beauty to be seen in the Great Smoky Mountains, but fall is a particularly special time down here. Thankfully, since the Ramada is so close, you’ll get to get a glimpse again and again during your stay here!

Perhaps the best macabre celebration in Pigeon Forge is The Island’s “Halloween Carnival”. This will be the 4^th installation of the event, and it promises to be better than ever. The entire carnival will be Halloween themed and is sure to have decorations that will spook as much as they’ll bedazzle! Circus performers and fire dancers will be committing daring feats into the night with special surprises in store. There will also be trick or treating throughout the Island, so be sure to grab a candy map! A great event for the younger or faint of heart is the Halloween Trick or Treat on Friday at the Pigeon Forge Community Center. This non-scary event is meant for children and features local vendors who have set up fun and interactive displays as they hand out candy and other treats.

After your Halloween fun, come back and show off your costume to us at the Ramada. Just don’t scare us!

One of the things that make this museum so unique is the firsthand experience you get. You will be guided through the dozens of exhibits featuring hundreds of artifacts by two of Elvis’s closest friends – Donnie Summer and Ed Hill. This audio tour gives you a complete experience of the life of Elvis, from his beginning in Memphis to his final years in Las Vegas, and everything in between. It’s an incredible way to experience the life and times of one of the most important American musicians of all time.

Some notable exhibits include his signature TCB (Taking Care of Business) Pistol, one of Elvis’s favorite guns, the ring that Elvis designed and gave to J.D. Sumner live on stage (he became known for his philanthropy in his later years), and a variety of objects and artifacts from his final tour.

There’s a whole lot to take in at the Elvis and Hollywood Legends Museum. The King led a big life and left behind quite a legacy. It’s one of our favorite spots here at the Pigeon Forge Ramada, so be sure to check it out during your stay!

One of the most premier attractions around is the NASCAR SpeedPark of the Smoky Mountains.  Located in Sevierville, just a quick 15-minute drive from the Ramada, this park offers some of the best family fun in the Smokies. Face off in their brand new spin zone bumper cars, or get wet and wild on the bumper boats.

Guests over 16 years of age and with a valid drivers’ license get the rare opportunity to drive an actual Sprint Cup car! Hop in a 3/8-scale version of the famous car and get ready to round that D-oval track! It’s an awesome and fun way to see just what real NASCAR drivers experience on the racetrack.

Who doesn’t want to fly? If you really want to get crazy, head back down to Pigeon Forge and roll over to Flyaway Indoor Skydiving. Featuring America’s first vertical wind tunnel, you can break the laws of physics and fly in the air at this exciting and fun attraction.

As the leaves on the trees begin to change color, so will the décor at The Island. Not only do you get a fantastic view of the beautiful reds, oranges, and yellows that paint the tops of trees along the Smokies, but there’s also going to be tons of seasonal activities, live bluegrass music, and great photo opportunities so you can properly usher in autumn!

With over 60 retail shops, tons of restaurants and eateries, rides, games and live music, The Island really has it all. You’ll be hard pressed not to find something fun for everyone at this affordable and versatile family destination in Pigeon Forge! A favorite for adults is the Margaritaville Restaurant, open daily from 11 a.m. – 2 a.m., but it’s always 5 o’ clock here!

Don’t forget to ride the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel for an even better view of the mountains! It’s not quite like anything else you’ll see. There’s so much to do at The Island, you may end up coming back a few times during your stay at Pigeon Forge. Good thing it’s so close to the Ramada!

The fun starts Saturday morning at 10 a.m. down at the Old Mill. Get there early for the start of Heritage Day where you can learn more about the time-honored traditions and people of the Smoky Mountains. There will be world-class bluegrass and folk music throughout the day, as well as traditional clog and square dancing.

You can also learn many trades of the area in craft making classes, quilting demonstrations, check out antique engines, and learn how to make moonshine! There’s also plenty of fun to be had for the kids with a petting zoo, pumpkin painting, an old fire truck, and more.

This is a free event and is sure to be fun for all involved. You won’t want to miss Heritage Day – it’s a local favorite of us here in Pigeon Forge and a great way to learn more about our wonderful little corner of the world. Hope to see you there!

There are tons of things to catch all weekend long. Owners compete for cash prizes in contests, celebrity guests will be in attendance, and of course, there are tons of classic cars to ogle at!

Parking is free for spectators, but be sure to plan your trip accordingly! The parkway can turn into more of a parking lot this weekend. If you’re coming the day of, try and arrive earlier in the morning before the rest of the circus shows up! Of course, if you can’t avoid it, it’s not the worst thing to get stuck in traffic with a bunch of beautiful old cars! You’re sure to meet plenty of nice folks too – Pigeon Forge’s people are well known for their friendly demeanor, so don’t be shy!

The classic Comedy Barn Theater show, just one of many performances held at the Comedy Barn, is a fantastic variety show featuring magicians, jugglers, ventriloquists, comedians, and the best bluegrass and gospel music this side of the Great Smoky Mountains!

That’s not all the Comedy Barn offers though. Another show filled with family fun is the Amazing Animals Exotic Animal and Pet Show. Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 2:00 p.m., trainers Anthony and Alena King bring their incredible cast of trained animals to the stage. Watch in awe as parrots, donkeys, cats, dogs and more perform incredible feats that are sure to wow you!

Come meet the cast any day! The two-story building is the only wax museum in the country with nothing but celebrity figures Modern-day celebrities like Brad Pitt and Anne Hathaway share the stage with classic stars such as Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, and John Wayne. And of course, it goes without saying that Elvis is here – this is Tennessee, after all!

The Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center is also made up of the world’s first 5D ride - Castle of Chaos. See if you have what it takes to survive the castle on this fun for the whole family thrill ride. Also found in the entertainment center is zombie adventure Outbreak and Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors. The former challenges you to contain and clean up a zombie outbreak, the latter drops you in a mirror maze where you attempt to save Princess Hannah while trying to navigate through 288 potential twisty and confusing turns.

It all kicks off next Wednesday with the opening ceremonies at 7:00 p.m. Keith Anderson, who co-wrote the 2000 Garth Brooks and George Jones duet hit “Beer Run” will be performing. Also on the bill is up and coming country music artist Karen Waldrup.

The festival prides itself on being free to the public, offering over 120 free shows across multiple venues throughout Gatlinburg for 4 days. It’ll be virtually impossible not to stumble upon something amazing! If you happen to be a musician yourself, there are also tons of great forums and events happening all weekend for songwriters. No matter if you’re a bluegrass fanatic, musician, or just a lover of music, the Smoky Mountain Songwriters Festival is a great time for everyone. Gatlinburg is just minutes from us here at the Ramada, so be sure to check it out during your stay with us!

Once you enter the cove, you’ll quickly find that you are in a land untouched by man, but the openness of the area keeps it easy for you to know where you are. You can however, still purchase a tour-guide booklet at the entrance road so you can plan out your day accordingly. You’re sure to come across tons of wildlife, including white-tailed deer, coyotes, ground hogs, and in rare instances, even black bears.

The valley’s history is rich – for hundreds of years, Cherokee Indians hunted here in the valley, though it is not believe that they settled the area. Aside from just wildlife, you’ll also come across historic houses and buildings from the first European settlers in the area, who arrived somewhere between 1818 and 1821.

If you’re in the mood to exercise, this is also a great loop for bikes, and during the summer, the loop is actually closed to cars until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays so cyclists may ride freely. You’ll begin your day on the monster bus – a massive converted school bus with wheels as big as your kids! This fun and bumpy 30-minute tour takes you up a mountain, from where you’ll ascend to the Sky Bridge – a 100-foot long swinging bridge. This adventure is certainly not for the faint of heart, but your reward will be an incredible view from the dome. From there, there’s no place to go but down! It all ends with a ride on the zipcoaster. Enjoy the view as you twist, turn, and descend on this fun ride.

A modest price of $29 gets you the monster bus ride, sky bridge adventure, and zipcoaster. And, if you feel like going in for seconds on the zipcoaster, you’ll get your second ride for only $10 – a third of the cost! Everything kicks off at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday morning at this old but still functioning gristmill that was built way back in 1830. There's nothing quite like hearing live bluegrass on a summer day in the Smokies. All day long there will be great music from local and regional artists who have all come to take part in this quirky and fun festival. There will also be plenty of food to go around, so make sure you come hungry!

The park features dozens of interactive exhibits that aim to teach about our natural world via firsthand experience. Head over the WonderZones and experience a replica of the 1989 San Francisco Earthquake at the earthquake cafe. Or hang on tight at Hurricane Hole and get braced with category 1 hurricane force winds of up to 71 miles-per-hour!

If the kids have a thirst for thrills, and adventure, the Space Discovery station offers tons of excitement. Take an astronaut training challenge and see what it's like to actually be in space. A gyroscope spins you in all different directions and speeds to simulate the effects zero-gravity has on the human body. Or try and break the sound barrier as you take a simulated flight of an F18 Hornet, reaching up to top speeds of 1,190 miles-per-hour!

There are also plenty of physical challenges to get the energy out, like the glow-in-the-dark rope challenge. You'll work together as you climb up to 4 stories and conquer challenges and obstacles like a tremor bridge. WonderWorks is great for the whole family because it gets you to work together and have fun along the way! Afterwards, you might be a little tuckered out, so come on back to the Ramada and relax with us!

• Rocky Top – For those of you who are really looking for a good workout, this 5-mile hike will have you sweating but the payoff is immeasurable. If it’s a clear day, Spence Field will provide incredible views of the Smokies in North Carolina.

• Abrams Falls – What the 20-foot high Abrams Falls lack for in height, they make up for with sheer power. These falls are the most powerful surges of water in the park, which makes for astonishing views and also provides a nice cool down in the middle of your moderate 5.1-mile round-trip hike.

• Andrews Bald – This 1.7-mile hike is a short one, but don’t let it fool you! It can be relatively strenuous at times, but the Smoky Mountains love to reward its adventurers. Once you arrive at the open grassy meadows that span countless acres, you might think you’re in a movie! Enjoy the blissful peace and serenity of the meadow as you take a break from your adventuring. It’s also a great place to enjoy a day picnic!

The amount of options here in the Great Smoky Mountains are limitless, so we’re sure you’ll find something that’s just perfect for what you’re looking for. Afterwards, head on back to the Ramada and rest those tired feet after a long day of fun!

Though they’re half a year apart, the 4^th of July and Christmas come together on Monday at the Incredible Christmas Place in Pigeon Forge when Uncle Sam pays a visit! Everyday is Christmas here, and on this special event, enjoy great sales, sidewalk shopping, food and more as we bring together our two favorite holidays!

Head down to Patriot Park on the 4^th for everyone’s favorite celebration – the Pigeon Forge Patriot Festival. Enjoy a night of stars, stripes, food, and music as Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter Joe Diffie takes the stage to play all his hit songs and more. There will also be a number of other artists performing throughout the day and into the evening.

Food and games will also be prevalent at the park, where the party starts at 12:00 p.m. Music starts at 1:30 p.m., so round up the whole family and get there early to snag a good spot! The grand finale starts around 9:30 p.m. with a spectacular fireworks show unlike anything else in the area. You might want to bring your own lawn chairs and blankets for seating.

Hop on The Lightning Rod – the world’s fastest wooden roller coaster and get ready for a jolt! Reaching a top speed of 73 mph and dropping as deep as 165 feet, this classically built coaster is an adrenaline junkies dream!

Running until July 10^th, international star illusionist Brad Ross will be dazzling audiences with his world-class magic at DP’s Celebrity Center. Children and adults alike will not want to miss his awe-inspiring, fun, and hilarious show while you’re there!

Finally, once the sun goes down, you can cap off your perfect day with Dolly’s Night of Many Colors, a breathtaking fireworks and music display that runs every night throughout the summer. The Great Smoky Mountains span over 500,000 acres, making up a part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the larger Appalachian Mountain chain. They were named after the blue smoky mist that hugs the mountaintops and have become a staple background to Pigeon Forge. Boasting over 800 miles of trails, tons of camping sites, waterfalls, coves, and summits, it’s no wonder that so many outdoors enthusiasts come here ever year.

Cades Cove, an isolated valley spanning 6,800 cares and is the most visited area in the whole park. This is a great place to observe a diverse wildlife and explore trails that run through its astonishing forests, and even see some remarkable historic buildings such as 19^th century churches and log cabins. If you’re looking for a view, head up to Clingmans Dome. It’s the highest point in the whole park. Towering at 6,643 feet, get up to the observation tower and check the incredible view! On a clear day, you can see over 100 miles!

There’s so much to do in the Great Smoky Mountains, you could spend your entire visit to Pigeon Forge here! So get out and get a taste of that fresh American beauty. But don’t forget about us back here at the Ramada!

The event’s home base will be at the LeConte Event Center, just a quick 5-minute drive up Teaser Lane from the Ramada Pigeon Forge. All week and into the weekend, there will be hikes and other outdoor excursions leaving from the center. Take a leisurely bird walk with bird experts, an adventurous waterfall hike, or even a whitewater-rafting trip! Starting as early at 8 a.m., and running till as last at 7:30 p.m., the hikes and adventures range in difficulty so no matter what age or skill level you are, you’re sure to find something that’s perfect for you and the family!

There are also many classes, seminars, exhibits that are being offered inside the event center. One special course will teach you all about bear cubs and how they adapt behaviors and learn how to be bears as we know them. Another seminar will relay one person’s accounts of their journey hiking the Appalachian Trail. You can also enter the annual photo contest to showcase your own outdoor experiences and go up against others for prizes!

No matter what you choose to do this week, you’ll be hard pressed not to find something that’s just right for you! The hard part is actually choosing between all these great events!
